Something about us

We are Anne and Elise Legerstee, mother and daughter. For many years now we have been involved in dogs. It is our shared hobby, both our men are involved less intensively.

After owning some different breeds of dogs we finally got hooked on the Border Collie breed. The drive and energy of the Border Collie appealed to us greatly, because we like spending a lot of time training our dogs and playing with them. We like being active with our dogs by doing obedience, dogfrisbee, flyball and dogdance. But we are mainly involved in dog agility.

Because the dogs we had back then (Rottweilers) were less suitable for the more intensive dog sports we purchased our first Border Collie in 1997 in England. After more and more people asked us whether we were planning a litter with our beautiful girl we decided to go for it and register a kennel name. We chose the name "Beautiful Day's" after the similar named song by U2. The name refers to the pleasure we have with our dogs every day. We chose a sea and beach theme for our web site because beautiful day's and beaches belong together and we live not to far from the beach where we can be found with our dogs on a regular basis.

By now our pack consists of six Border Collies, each of them with their own special character, each of them great to live with. Skippy and Smooch live with Elise and Wilco in Rijswijk, the other four live with Anne, Jaap and Isabel in Delft.

For a few years now we have our own training location in Pijnacker. We come here often to play and train with our dogs. Elise trains with Skippy and Smooch, Anne trains with Dyna and Choice, Jaap trains with Lynn. Ferrah is bothered too much by old age ailments to train with us and she saunters around between the training sessions. At our training location we regular meet people who want to have a look and see what training and having a Border Collie is like. Also we get regular visits from people who have a puppy from our breeding and like to come and chat and train with us.
